The 9th annual BIG SWIM, a GIVETOLIVE project, will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Fifty brave swimmers will attempt to cross the Northumberland Strait, from Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick, to Borden, Prince Edward Island.
This approximate 15 to 17+ km swim is a fundraiser for Brigadoon Village, a non-profit, year-round recreational facility in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. With their partners, Brigadoon Village delivers camp programming to Atlantic Canadian children, youth, and families living with chronic illness, chronic condition, or special need. This year, the goal is to raise $150,000 to send 150 extraordinary kids to camp. Since its inception in 2011, The BIG SWIM has raised over one million dollars for children’s charities.
